One Point Perspective 3rd grade

The 3rd graders have added the element of space to their art-making repertoire by working on 1 point perspective drawings. They have learned how to use a vanishing point to create the illusion of depth.

Klimt Trees

Under the direction of our illustrious student teacher, Miss Emily Horvat, the third graders created fanciful trees in the style of Gustav Klimt. Students also added their own personal symbols.

Birch Tree Landscapes

3rd graders learned how to make a resist in watercolor painting by using tape to mask off areas in their work which would "resist" the watercolor paint, thus leaving the paper white.

The big "reveal", pulling off tape to discover the areas left white

Adding details to finish the birch trees.
